Shifter Rory Marsden is having trouble dealing with his newly awakened bear. The last thing he needs is a new mate too, no matter how gorgeous she is or how much his bear whines that she’s The One.

Although he’s made it very clear he’s not interested, Becky Conway can’t get Rory’s intense blue eyes and muscular shoulders out of her thoughts. And damn, her body says they belong together, no matter what either of their minds say.

But after Becky’s kidnapped, Rory can’t keep pretending. Becky’s his mate, and he will do anything to rescue her.

A steamy standalone BWWM romance for readers 18+s, Furever Yours contains explicit love scenes and graphic language. #2 in the Furever Shifters series. 28,500 words, or about 100 pages.

I think I may have read this too soon after the previous book, "Furever Mine". I was all high and dreamy after reading about Bear, but Rory is not at all like him. It shows how versatile the author is, that she can create different characters and is not limited to stock characters which sound similar all the time, but Rory is really so totally different from Bear that it jolted me out of my dreaminess and I fell to Earth with a splat!

I don't think readers will be lost if they read this book without having read Book 1, although Bear and Georgette from Book 1 do make brief appearances in this book. However, I think readers need to read the series prequel "Going Bear" before reading this one, because "Going Bear" gives Rory's background and how he first discovers he's a bear. It explains why he's so uncomfortable with being a bear and is having so much trouble controlling his bear. "Going Bear" is free at the time of this review.

Anyway, Rory. He has a chip on his shoulder about being a manual worker -- he's a tree trimmer and he thinks he's not good enough for Becky, who is a wildlife biologist. He also has a ton of baggage from his past, not ex-girlfriends or ex-wives kind of baggage, but upbringing kind of baggage. He's fighting so many things inside that he's gruff and curt and is annoyed beyond belief to discover, on top of it all, that his bear wants Becky as its mate. Even more so because he doesn't even LIKE his bear. So he tries to pretend his bear doesn't exist and he refuses to countenance the idea of a 'mate'. Like, don't be silly, just because I can sense when Becky is in danger and I feel extremely protective of her, that doesn't mean anything! Of course it doesn't! Ha. Poor guy doesn't even see it coming.

Becky is drawn to Rory from the start. Part of her recognizes that he is important to her, but she's confused by his coldness. As a wildlife biologist, she goes out into the field to observe salamanders but encounters wolf tracks and droppings -- and gets excited that wolves might be coming back to this part of the country! Strange things happen to her, but she convinces herself she was hallucinating or that her eyes were deceiving her. I felt a bit impatient with her as she seemed to be in denial and refused to see what was as plain as the nose on her face. On the other hand, I guess I shouldn't blame her since the idea of shifters is so 'out there'. It was probably perfectly reasonable for her to try to find some other plausible explanation for the things she saw and experienced. Then someone starts stalking Becky because of what she saw and poor Rory doesn't want to be involved but can't stay away. Such a grouchy protector you never saw!

The reason for the 3 stars: the story feels unfinished. Why did the other group of shifters attack Becky? Who are they? Why were they in the area? What happened to them after that? What about Rory's family, will he ever find them? What happened when he was a baby? Why did his father leave everything to him when they never had a close relationship? I was left with so many unanswered questions! There's going to be a Book 3 but I don't know if I will read it. I just felt that this one left too many loose ends, which was such a disappointment after Book 1.

Furever Yours Furever Shifters Book 2 edition by Iris Balfour Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

Another great hit from this author. I have yet to read one of her shifter books that I did not love. I love faithful and steamy shifters. If you love them too, you have got to get this one.
This was fun quick read. The internal struggle Rory has with himself through out the story is a great example of the insecurities so many people feel daily. The plot twists keep you on your toes and the leap of faith they take to be together is inspiring. This is the first book I've read in this series but I'm definitely going to buy the first book in this series now. I was provided with an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
We met Rory and Becky in book 1 as side characters. Rory was just experiencing his first bear shootings and he wasn't handling it well, so Bear, the head of the clan sort of took him in to help him. Becky is Georgette's (Bear's mate) best friend. When Becky meets Rory she sort of falls in lust because he's hot but he's grumpy and rude. Inside, his bear is attracted to Becky. He just doesn't think she would accept him being a shifter and not as educated as Becky. This book is their story. The ups and downs of them getting together or not. Becky getting into trouble with wolf shifters and Rory sensing it - so we know there's a connection. But will he do anything about it? Great 2nd book in this series!
Love love love.....what more can I say!!
I liked this story! Rory is your quintessential troubled, moody, handsome hunk who meets his match in Becky. Keeping her safe made for a real page turning read.
Iris Balfour writes book two in her series. Story centers on the great outdoors with a twist centered on bad wolfs.
Good read and I liked that the hero battled with the knowledge that he was now a bear shifter. Just wonder if there will be another book regarding the sister having the host for Terrance
