'Glacier Murder' is a great crime novel set on New Zealand's wild West Coast of the South Island. As well as describing in detail the settings for what is a complex and gripping yarn, McCormack draws on personal knowledge of glaciers and their twists and turns. A tale that keeps the pages turning, 'Glacier Murder' is a great read. Check it out, as well as McCormack's first book, 'Assigned to Murder'.
very well written awesome book, especially the fact that it is based on the westcoast of new Zealand, an awesome place
An original story but dragged on some what
Set in New Zealand at Franz Joseph glacier, this novel starts off with an interesting premise; a body is found that has been hidden for years in a glacier crevasse. A glacier guide, Philippa is persuaded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.The plotline is strong and the character of Philipa is likeable, but the amateur sleuthing does become a little implausible in one or two places. Perhaps a little more editing of some of the longer dialogue passages that over explained events but overall, a good read.
