This book started off a little quickly for me. Since I purchased it on my kindle, I was sort of surprised when I started it and 8% later they were already having sex. I guess I'm used to a little more interaction between the characters, giving readers the chance to get to know them. Also, it made me sort of uncomfortable that she had sex with a man that she did not even know when she was in the tent. I mean, I guessed it was Mark, but the fact that she didn't know who the hell she was banging kind of felt weird. One thing that I found annoying was how Christa kept criticizing Mark for doubting her, making her leave the country. As if she didn't think that every time he was out of her sight for more than twenty minutes he was back with Willow. Which, by the way, he never was. It was just irritating that as much crap she gave him about doubt that she had a significant portion of it herself. But all of that aside, this was a captivating read that I could not wait to finish. I recommend it, even if you might get a little annoyed at times. The story is worth it.

just loved it
Story was okay. Started out well, but hero got to be annoying. The story is an easy read, though, finished in a day.
Connie Mason is a very good writer. Her books are full of adventure, love & thrills. Great reading for those nights that are long &
boring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER BOOKS TO EVERYONE !
I'm addicted to Connie Masons Historical romances. I think she is a very good writer I love every book of hers I have read so far. I say if a book gets you turned on then it's a very good book =) Book arrived on time and was packaged nicely.
I read every day, I have read several Connie Mason books the last few weeks and have been well satisfied with the books. I had to make myself finish this one. Not her best. Lack of communication between the people of the story and leaving all the time just didn't make a good story. Disappointing!
What a ridiculous roller coaster ride. Mark constantly running away and Christa doubting everything he tells her. Spoiler! It was totally unbelievable Christa was given poison to abort her baby and she never figured it out even though she was later impregnated and knew the signs. Also unbelievable that she avoided being raped and beaten by several violent animalistic men who had her at thier mercy .Just ridiculous. A real dud.
I was disappointed by this book because Mark treats Christa as if she is less than. He doesn't treat her respectfully, always puts her last, and leaves her all of the time. He can never put love before his own desires in life. The loves scenes are basically all the same and Mark calling Christa "sweet siren" was degrading, as if she were some sort of whore. Certainly the author could have made Mark a little less selfish and devoted to the supposed love of his life. It was a hard book to finish. As a woman who enjoys romance novels, I find this depressing and a waste of time.
